Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received a letter from Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in which he strongly condemned and denounced the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ghobash stated that the attacks constitute a blatant violation of Bahrain's sovereignty, security, and stability, and a serious breach of international law and the principles governing relations between states. He expressed full confidence that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and drawing on its wisdom, resilience, and national unity, can overcome these challenges, as it has always done.
The FNC Speaker reiterated the UAE's strong condemnation and denouncement of the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting Bahrain, describing them as an infringement on its sovereignty and stability. He emphasized that these acts represent a serious breach of international law and the principles governing relations between states.
Ghobash highlighted that, despite the Gulf states' efforts to promote stability, peace, and de-escalation, they continue to face Iranian aggression. He underscored the need for greater solidarity, coordination, preparedness, and adherence to the principles of national sovereignty.
He further stressed that the security of the Kingdom of Bahrain is integral to the security of the United Arab Emirates and that any infringement on Bahrain's sovereignty and stability impacts the Gulf security system as a whole.
He added that the deep-rooted ties among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states will remain a strong shield against anything that threatens the region's security and stability, wishing Bahrain and its people continued security, stability, and prosperity.
For his part, Speaker Al Musallam expressed appreciation to the FNC Speaker for the supportive positions conveyed in his letter, which reflect the longstanding ties between the two countries. He highlighted the close relations between Bahrain and the UAE, describing them as a model of strong Gulf ties founded on solidarity and mutual support.
