Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, received Farid Hajiyev, Chief of Staff of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, was present.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, the Speaker praised the progress and development of Bahraini-Azerbaijani relations across all domains, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Al Musallam affirmed parliamentary support and the joint commitment to enhancing cooperation across all domains, commending the interest of Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, in strengthening bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between the two parliaments.
The Speaker highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise and best practices between the secretariats to develop parliamentary work. He emphasized the Council's initiatives in digital transformation, the Green Parliament, and the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary processes. These initiatives have been overseen by the Council's Secretariat, received quality and excellence certifications, and have positioned the Council among the region's and world's leading legislative bodies in these vital fields.
