Kuwait city: The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) participated in the preparatory meeting of the Committee of Heads of Civil Retirement and Social Insurance Agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Kuwait.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting involved discussing and reviewing several items on the agenda. Key among these was the follow-up report on the Committee of Heads' work for the 2023-2026 period, and the progress achieved in joint plans and programmes aimed at boosting the financial sustainability of retirement funds.
Attendees reviewed the 2023-2026 Work Plan and highlighted periodic seminars and specialised training programmes in social insurance. They also reviewed the Scientific Research Award for Retirement Agencies and its role in developing systems and best practices.
Furthermore, a discussion was held on the item dedicated to honouring leading figures who have contributed to the development of the retirement and social insurance sectors. Various other topics submitted by the member states were also discussed.
