Saudi Arabia and Cuba Ink Air Transport Services Agreement

Riyadh: Abdulaziz Al Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Miguel Porto Parga, Ambassador of Cuba to Saudi Arabia, have officially signed an agreement on air transport services between Saudi Arabia and Cuba. The signing ceremony coincided with the official visit of the Cuban prime minister, who attended the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference in Riyadh.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement seeks to enhance cooperation in air transport services and foster bilateral ties grounded in mutual benefit and respect, adhering to the laws and regulations of both nations. It also aims to establish regulatory frameworks for air transport.

This development is seen as a significant step towards achieving the objectives of the aviation programme, which emphasizes building international partnerships and strengthening global relations in civil aviation. It is expected to enable national carriers to broaden their operational networks, improve the Kingdom's air connectivity to reach 250 destinations, and aid in transporting 330 million passengers annually by 2030, aligning with the strategic goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
