Social Development Ministry Hosts International Volunteer Exhibition in Celebration of Volunteerism

Manama: The Ministry of Social Development organised the International Volunteer Exhibition to mark International Volunteer Day. The event, located at Marassi Galleria in Diyar Al Muharraq, was attended by Zeyad Adel Darwish, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, and featured a variety of civil society organisations from across Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the undersecretary highlighted that the exhibition is in line with the ministry's strategy to support the non-profit sector, encourage volunteer initiatives, and foster community partnerships that enhance the role of civil society in national development.

He emphasized that the ministry is committed to collaborating with government entities, the private sector, and civil society organisations to create an environment that maximises the impact of volunteer work.

Darwish remarked that volunteerism embodies the values of cooperation and solidarity in Bahraini society. He stated that Bahrain values volunteer initiatives that support different sectors and contribute to strengthening national unity and advancing development goals.

The exhibition featured various civil society organisations showcasing their volunteer programmes and successful community initiatives. Visitors were introduced to numerous volunteer opportunities and methods to engage in civil society work, promoting broader community involvement.
