Manama: The Ministry of Social Development has issued a call to action for civil society organisations in Bahrain that have failed to convene their general assemblies for two consecutive years. These organisations are urged to regularise their status within a two-week timeframe, adhering to the laws and regulations that govern civil society organisations in the Kingdom.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry is emphasizing the importance for these organisations to hold their general assemblies and fulfil the necessary regulatory and administrative procedures by the stipulated deadline. Additionally, the ministry has advised the boards of these organisations to reach out to the relevant department within the ministry should they require guidance on the process.
The ministry has cautioned that failure to comply with the directive within the given period may lead to legal actions, including potential dissolution, as per the existing legislation and regulations. This initiative is part of the ministry's ongoing oversight activities aimed at ensuring that civil society organisations are compliant with regulations and contribute positively to a sustainable civil society sector.
