Social Development Minister Highlights Success at 2026 Summer Programme for People of Determination

Mubarak jassim kanoo comprehensive social centre: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the National Committee for the Care of People of Determination, attended the closing ceremony of the 2026 Summer Programme for People of Determination. The event took place at the Mubarak Jassim Kanoo Comprehensive Social Centre.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme was organised by the Ministry of Social Development in cooperation with the National Committee for the Care of People of Determination and in partnership with relevant civil society organisations. Minister Al Alawi praised the summer programmes implemented by associations supporting people of determination, noting their role in effective community partnership. He highlighted that the various activities and programmes offered have significantly contributed to the development of participants' skills and abilities, ensuring a productive use of their time and enhancing their community involvement.

Minister Al Alawi emphasized that empowering people of determination is a shared national and community responsibility. He mentioned that supporting initiatives and programmes tailored to their needs and aspirations is an investment in human potential, promoting equal opportunities and reinforcing Bahrain's strategy of fostering an inclusive environment that enables broad participation and contribution to development.

The minister also acknowledged the efforts of associations, administrative and technical personnel, supervisors, volunteers, and partners who played a crucial role in the success of the programmes. He expressed hope to build on the results and experiences gained, and to continue developing initiatives that cater to the needs of people of determination, support their capabilities, enhance their independence, and reinforce their role as active partners in national development.

The summer programme, which commenced in July, included a variety of cultural, training, recreational, and social activities, such as trips, field visits, life and independent living skills development programmes, and vocational preparation activities. These activities were designed to make positive use of participants' time during the summer holiday and improve their integration into the community.

The closing ceremony featured a presentation of the programmes and activities conducted during the summer. Participants, organising associations, supervisors, supporting entities, and contributors were honoured for their roles in achieving the programme's objectives.
