Manama:The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has enhanced its service for requesting an extension of the property registration period, offering simplified conditions for applicants. Beneficiaries can now apply for an extension after more than 60 days from the sale contract date, with the possibility of a reduced registration fee of 1.7% instead of 2%, depending on the reasons for the delay.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service significantly reduces processing time from three working days to just one. The required documents have been halved, the Service Level Agreement (SLA) cut by at least 25%, and the number of application steps reduced to a maximum of four. The service is fully electronic with improvements in user interface and experience, simplified procedures, and standardized service information across all channels.
Ammar Rashid Al Khashram, Director-General of Property Registration at the SLRB, stated that applicants can submit requests through the Bureau's website, attaching necessary documents when needed. They can also track their application status online and benefit from reduced fees if approved.
The service development is part of the SLRB's digital transformation efforts, aimed at increasing the efficiency of property registration transactions. It facilitates application submission and delay review with clearer procedures, reflecting the Bureau's commitment to reducing time and effort for individuals and institutions while enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
