Manama: The Shura Council Secretariat has published a pioneering report, the first of its kind globally among legislative councils, showcasing its performance in the areas of environment, governance, and society. This comprehensive report, available in both Arabic and English, tracks the Council’s activities during the sixth legislative term, offering an analytical framework for these critical domains.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Council, emphasized the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing Bahrain’s commitment to good governance. This strategic focus is aimed at enhancing institutional performance, ensuring justice, and maintaining a balance between economic growth, social stability, and environmental sustainability.
Al Abbasi further explained that the report underscores the Council’s initiatives to strengthen institutional empowerment, enhance capabilities, and cultivate a fair working environment that guarantees equal opportunities. The report also aims to highlight achievements, address existing challenges, and explore opportunities to support the Council’s role in promoting governance principles, thereby contributing to Bahrain’s sustainable development.
