Shura Council Chairman Highlights Bahrain’s Commitment to Peace on International Day of Conscience

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to promoting the values of peace and tolerance as a consistent national approach, underscoring the importance of upholding human conscience in addressing global challenges.

According to Bahrain News Agency, marking the International Day of Conscience, observed annually on April 5 following a Bahrain-led initiative adopted by the United Nations, Al Saleh noted that the occasion reflects the importance of strengthening cooperation among countries and peoples to promote a culture of peace, mutual respect, and coexistence, and to build stable and secure societies.

He noted Bahrain's international standing in advancing dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence, in line with the approach led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Al Saleh reiterated Bahrain's rejection of attacks targeting the Kingdom and other countries in the region, noting that such actions contravene the principles of international law and the values of human conscience.

He affirmed the Shura Council's continued support for national initiatives and legislation that promote peaceful coexistence and constructive dialogue, in line with the Kingdom's diplomatic and humanitarian approach. The Chairman also highlighted the role of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing development efforts and initiatives that support stability, security, and social cohesion.

He noted that Bahrain's progress across various sectors reflects the national vision and ongoing efforts to promote sustainable development and strengthen international cooperation in pursuit of peace and prosperity.
