Muharraq:Shaikh Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, visited the Muharraq Municipality's environmental corner at Marassi Galleria as part of the National Tree Week. This initiative was launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Mohamed emphasized the ministry's dedication to promoting agricultural awareness and increasing community involvement in tree planting. The initiatives aim to provide the public with necessary knowledge and skills for plant care, expanding green spaces, and encouraging gardening as a community practice.
He highlighted the role of interactive corners in shopping centers in disseminating agricultural information to various age groups and fostering positive environmental practices. The importance of combining seedling distribution with practical guidance for proper care and growth was also underscored.
Khalid Ali Al Qallaf, Director General of Muharraq Municipality, noted that the municipality continues to implement agricultural initiatives under the guidance of Minister Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak and Shaikh Mohamed. The environmental corner provided practical plant care guidance and distributed seedlings to promote home gardening and environmental responsibility.
Abdulaziz Al Naar, Chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council, spoke about the partnership with the municipality's executive body in organizing the corner, supporting tree-planting initiatives, and encouraging community participation. He mentioned that providing families with seedlings and guidance helps children engage in gardening and connect with the environment.
The council is committed to ongoing cooperation with Muharraq Municipality, enhancing public engagement during National Tree Week and promoting sustainable practices that preserve natural resources in various settings.
