Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, recently held a meeting with Abdullnabi Abdullah Al Shoala, Chairman of Albilad for Journalism, Publishing and Distribution. During the meeting, Al Shoala introduced Shaikh Khalid to the Chairman and members of the Independent Supreme Committee of the Albilad Corporate Social Responsibility Shield Initiative 2026, now in its fifth edition.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid highlighted the significance of initiatives that focus on projects serving societal needs, aligning with the objectives of comprehensive development spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He emphasized the role of these initiatives in fostering values of solidarity and encouraging the private sector to embrace responsible practices that extend beyond traditional business activities.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised Albilad's initiatives, particularly the Al Bilad Corporate Social Responsibility Shield, for its role in promoting sustainability and corporate social responsibility among companies. He noted the initiative's function as an incentive for businesses to incorporate these principles into their strategies and operations, ultimately benefiting the nation and its citizens.
Shaikh Khalid expressed his best wishes to the Chairman and members of the Independent Supreme Committee of the Albilad Corporate Social Responsibility Shield Initiative 2026. He acknowledged the committee's diverse composition and expertise, including members from the legislative authority, government and private sectors, and international organizations, under the chairmanship of Dr. Hassan Ibrahim Kamal. Their efforts in evaluating submissions and reviewing successful experiences align with the award's objectives.
In response, Al Shoala conveyed gratitude to Shaikh Khalid for his ongoing support, which he identified as essential for the initiative's success and sustainability. He noted that the expansion of the award across various categories reflects a commitment to recognizing excellence in line with goals for economic sustainability and comprehensive community development.
