Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) President Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa received the newly-appointed Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Alexey Skosyrev.
He wished the ambassador success in carrying out his duties and continuing efforts to develop cooperation between the two countries.
SCIA President praised the participation of the Tatarstan President and many scholars and thinkers from Russia in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, coinciding with the historic official visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of HM the King, in the presence of His Eminence the Grand Imam Shaikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb.
The ambassador expressed his appreciation to SCIA President for the Council’s efforts in strengthening religious ties, spreading tolerant values and promoting interfaith dialogue.
