SCIA President Honors Graduates at Quran Institute Ceremony

Manama:The graduation ceremony for the third cohort of the Institute of Quran Recitations and Preparation of Teachers was attended by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), at the Isa Cultural Centre. The event celebrated the achievements of 76 graduates, comprising 20 male and 56 female students.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their continued support of the SCIA and its initiatives, including the establishment of the Institute. He congratulated the graduates and their families, acknowledging the efforts of the Institute's Board of Directors, Scientific Council, and staff in achieving the Institute's goals.

The ceremony commenced with a Quranic recitation by Mohammed Ahmed Rakha, followed by a speech from Shaikh Abdullah Qahtan Al Omari, the Director of the Institute. He detailed the Institute's recent accomplishments, such as its institutional listing with the Education and Training Quality Authority and the submission of its qualifications for the National Qualifications Framework. The formation of a scientific committee to develop a Quranic curriculum was also highlighted.

Graduate Hussain Jaafar Al Mahroos addressed the audience, expressing the graduates' satisfaction with the programme, which combines Quranic and educational sciences. He praised the supportive academic environment and the robust curriculum that equips students to become qualified Quran reciters and teachers.

The ceremony also showcased a model ijazah in Quran recitation, awarded to student Maryam Elhamy by Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Waeli. Students in the Diploma in Quran Recitations programme memorize the entire Quran and receive an ijazah from selected scholars.

The event concluded with Shaikh Abdulrahman presenting certificates to the graduates. Notable attendees included Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawdah, Sheikh Abdulhussein bin Khalaf Al Asfoor, and other prominent figures.

The graduating class included 11 students from the Diploma in Quran Recitations and 64 from the Diploma in Quran Teaching, with several achieving high academic honors.
