Manama: Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), met Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders. Abdelsalam conveyed the greetings of Professor Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, together with his wishes for Bahrain's continued development and prosperity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting explored opportunities to expand joint cooperation and reviewed the Muslim Council of Elders' strategic initiatives, as well as preparations for its forthcoming meeting. Discussions also focused on enhancing programmes that support Islamic causes, promote the principles of moderation, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence, and strengthen the council's future direction in addressing regional and global challenges.
Shaikh Abdulrahman affirmed the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs' commitment to maintaining close coordination with the Muslim Council of Elders. He also praised the council's role, under the leadership of Grand Imam Professor Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, in advancing issues of concern to the Islamic world and fostering dialogue, moderation, and mutual understanding.
