Manama:The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has introduced significant enhancements to its refrigerant cylinder refilling licence renewal service, aimed at improving service quality and re-engineering processes. This initiative allows licensed establishments to renew their environmental licences annually, ensuring ongoing compliance with the SCE's environmental and safety standards.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the new service facilitates automatic and immediate renewal for applicants meeting the requirements, eliminating the need for document submission. Previously, the process required a 20-working-day turnaround.
The improvements encompass a 50% reduction in required documents, a minimum 25% cut in the service-level agreement, and a transition to a completely electronic system. Enhancements include a better user interface, simplified procedures, service automation, system upgrades, electronic application forms, and uniform service information across all platforms.
Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive Officer of the SCE, highlighted that the development of this service will expedite renewal procedures, save time and effort, and improve licence management efficiency while maintaining adherence to environmental and regulatory standards. This aligns with ongoing government initiatives to enhance the quality of government services and the experience for beneficiaries.
The SCE's efforts are part of a broader government strategy to document, translate, and publish over 1,300 government services, with 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering. These efforts are informed by proposals and feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, and mystery shopper reports. The initiative has also seen the introduction of guidance manuals and service-level agreements to further the digital transformation of government services.
