Makkah: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Trkiye, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement during the Makkah Summit for Joint Defence. The event was attended by key leaders including His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Trkiye, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the summit focused on the strong relations among the three nations and explored various issues of mutual concern. The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement emerged as a testament to the commitment of these countries to enhance collective security and promote peace and stability in the region and beyond. This commitment is rooted in their historical ties, Islamic solidarity, strategic interests, and close defense cooperation.
The summit's statement elaborated that the agreement is designed to bolster collective deterrence against acts of aggression. It establishes that any armed attack on one of the countries will be considered an attack on all, emphasizing the enhancement of all aspects of defense cooperation among the nations involved.
