Saudi Arabia Condemns Iranian Attack on Oil Tankers

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting the Saudi oil tanker Wadyan while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the Qatari oil tanker Al Rukayyat, emphasising that the attacks constitute an assault on the security and safety of international maritime navigation and global energy supplies, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement denouncing the continued attacks by Iran. The ministry highlighted that these actions represent a serious violation of international law, international norms, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which guarantees freedom of maritime navigation and safe passage through international waterways.

The ministry reiterated Saudi Arabia's call on Iran to immediately cease all actions that threaten regional security, international maritime navigation, and global energy supplies, holding Iran fully responsible for the attacks and all resulting consequences.
