Royal Court Minister Receives Audited Financial Statements for 2024/2025 from NAO

Manama: On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, received the audited financial statements of the National Audit Office (NAO) for the fiscal year 2024/2025 from Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of NAO.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed commended the efforts of the NAO, noting its work in protecting public funds, ensuring that spending is legal and proper, maintaining high productivity and efficiency, and utilizing resources effectively to achieve the country's national goals.

Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed emphasized the role played by the NAO in fulfilling its responsibilities, describing it as one of the key outcomes of His Majesty the King's comprehensive development process. He highlighted the NAO's contribution to preserving national resources and ensuring high levels of productivity and efficiency.

For his part, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed underscored that the NAO's continued progress since its establishment reflects the support of His Majesty the King and the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The meeting reviewed the NAO's future development plans and programmes, focusing on improving staff efficiency, strengthening institutional capacities, advancing digital transformation, and making effective use of technology. It also addressed the expansion of oversight services, particularly in modern areas such as information systems oversight and cybersecurity.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed noted that the oversight work carried out by the NAO covered various economic, social, and service sectors, clarifying that the report included the material observations and recommendations reached by the work teams through the oversight activities conducted during the last professional year.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed highlighted that in the past professional year, 104 oversight tasks were completed, resulting in the issuance of 84 reports, in addition to 104 follow-up reports aimed at verifying that the audited entities had implemented the recommendations made in previous years; approximately 1,224 recommendations were also issued.

During 2024/2025, the NAO followed up on the outcomes of implementing the recommendations set out in its previous reports, and the follow-up operations confirmed that the audited entities had implemented (or begun to implement) 84.9% of the recommendations.
