Istanbul: Brigadier General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services (RMS) and President of the Supreme Committee for Treatment Abroad, participated in the 16th Bosphorus Summit in Trkiye. The event, organized by the International Cooperation Platform (UIP-ICP), focused on the theme "Global Challenges: Adjusting to New Realities."
According to Bahrain News Agency, Brigadier General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa highlighted Bahrain's advancements in the healthcare sector through RMS. He detailed key achievements and recent projects that have bolstered Bahrain's position in the medical field, both regionally and globally.
The Commander discussed several developmental initiatives, including expanding specialized services, launching organ transplantation programs, incorporating surgical robots in complex operations, and integrating artificial intelligence technologies to improve healthcare management and service quality.
He also emphasized Bahrain's international collaborations with leading medical institutions to enhance expertise exchange, medical training, research, and partnerships in medical education and technology.
The presentation showcased Bahrain's centers of medical excellence, such as the Mohammed Bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, the Bahrain Oncology Centre, and the Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa Centre for Kidney Diseases, which are pivotal to the Kingdom's healthcare development.
The Commander noted Bahrain's progress in building a modern healthcare system, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He pointed out that Bahrain's digital transformation in healthcare serves as a regional model for innovation and efficiency.
On the sidelines of the summit, Brigadier General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa met with Bassam Ahmed Marzooq, the Bahraini Ambassador to Trkiye, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in healthcare, medical education, and advanced medical technologies, as well as exploring joint investment opportunities in the health sector.
