Public Security Chief of Bahrain Honored with INTERPOL Medal

Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, received Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General at the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates and President of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL). Lt-Gen. Al Hassan highlighted the strong relations between Bahrain and the UAE, which are characterized by collaborative efforts in security and policing. These efforts play a crucial role in supporting initiatives that enhance security and stability, as well as further developing security integration between the two nations.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Lt-Gen. Al Hassan was awarded the INTERPOL Medal of the Highest Order by Dr. Al Raisi. This prestigious recognition was given in honor of his significant contributions to promoting international cooperation for global security and peace. Lt-Gen. Al Hassan expressed his gratitude to the INTERPOL President for the honor and reaffirmed the Ministry of Interior's dedication to continued collaboration with INTERPOL. This includes exchanging expertise and information, combating organized crime, and promoting security both regionally and internationally.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Major-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security; Major General Fawaz Al Hassan, Commander of the Royal Academy of Police; Major General Waleed Al Shamsi, Commander of the Special Security Force; Colonel Hamdan Al Yamahi, INTERPOL Office Director; and Salem Al Mahri, Protocol and Ceremonies Coordinator for the President of INTERPOL.
