Saudi arabia: The Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Bahrain chaired the 50th meeting of the Committee of Experts from the Public Prosecution and Attorney General Offices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, held in Saudi Arabia. The session was led by Counsellor Fahad Khalid Al Buainain, the Advocate General, and included the participation of Mohammed Yousif Al Zubari, Chief Prosecutor, representing the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, along with delegates from other GCC public prosecution and attorney bodies.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting addressed several crucial agenda items, prominently featuring a proposal from Bahrain's Public Prosecution to establish a guiding legal framework for the integration of artificial intelligence in public prosecution and attorney offices. Other significant discussions included the review of unified judicial instructions applicable to GCC public prosecutors and deliberations on the requirements for the Hamed Al Othman Award.
Al Buainain emphasized the importance of enhancing joint GCC cooperation in judicial and legal arenas. He highlighted the need for developing prosecutorial work mechanisms, sharing expertise, adapting to legal and technological advancements, boosting performance efficiency, and upholding justice and the rule of law across GCC states.
The participants reaffirmed their dedication to ongoing coordination and collaboration among GCC public prosecution and public attorney offices. This commitment is aimed at promoting institutional integration and fostering joint Gulf judicial efforts.
