Manama: As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for 2026, Bahrain's Public Prosecution chaired the remote meeting of the heads of judicial inspection authorities of the GCC countries. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Head of Judicial Inspection, chaired the meeting, while Dr. Ali Abbas Al Shuwaikh, Advocate General of the Judicial Inspection Directorate, represented Bahrain's Public Prosecution. Representatives of the public prosecution authorities and prosecution services of the GCC countries also attended.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed several agenda items, most notably the draft unified guiding regulation for the inspection of the work of members of the public prosecution authorities. The regulation aims to enhance the efficiency of judicial work across the GCC countries and strengthen professional discipline and oversight, contributing to the promotion of justice and higher standards of transparency and accountability.
Following its review, it was decided to submit the draft regulation to the Assistant Attorneys General of the GCC countries.
