Preliminary Qualifiers for Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize Commence

Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the 29th Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize commenced today at Al Fateh Islamic Centre. Organised by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the competition attracted 4,242 participants, with 703 advancing to the preliminary stage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Abdulla Al Omari, Director of Holy Quran Affairs at the Ministry, stated that contestants progress through multiple rounds, from internal qualifiers to the final stage. The competition features seven categories for memorisation, recitation, and specialised contests for school students, individuals with disabilities, inmates, non-Arabic speakers, and the general public.

In addition to the main categories, the competition includes several incentive awards, such as oldest and youngest participants, Best Quran Centre, and Best Local Competition.
