Bahrain: The Interior Ministry affirmed that the Coast Guard, in cooperation and coordination with the Capital Governorate Police Directorate, conducted a coastal and marine awareness campaign in Bahrain Bay to enhance marine safety awareness among various segments of society.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the campaign included distributing safety guidelines, Watani magazine, and life jackets. It also raised awareness among visitors to the area about the importance of wearing life jackets while swimming, staying within designated swimming areas, and refraining from diving in the area without an approved license. It also provided information on the safety requirements to be followed when using jet skis and rowing boats.
The campaign also included ensuring that safety requirements were met and that licenses were valid for entities designated to rent rowing boats, contributing to a safe marine environment for all.
The Coast Guard urged sea-goers to comply with safety guidelines and instructions governing marine activities and to contact the Coast Guard hotline (994) in emergencies.
