Bahrain: A delegation from the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Political Affairs of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), held on the sidelines of Bahrain's hosting of the 16th APA General Assembly. This assembly is taking place from January 24 to 28 under the theme "The Role of Asian Parliaments in Promoting Dialogue among Civilisations and Cultures in Asia: Opportunities, Challenges and Future Pathways."
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed the General Secretariat's report on key parliamentary developments. The discussions included draft resolutions recommended by the Executive Council, focusing on good governance, strengthening the rule of law and judicial empowerment, and promoting best parliamentary practices.
The meeting also covered draft resolutions aimed at building prosperity in Asia through cooperation. There was an emphasis on enhancing coordination between Asian parliaments and governments to support sustainable development and reinforce democracy as a foundation for balanced growth.
The participating delegation comprised MP Bader Al Tamimi, MP Abdulhakeem Al Shanoo, Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, and Dr. Hani Al Sayegh, all of whom are members of the Shura Council.
