Omani Finance Minister Engages with Bahrain’s Economic Leaders


Manama: Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, the Minister of Finance of the Sultanate of Oman, has conducted an official visit to Bahrain where he engaged with key economic entities including Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and the Economic Development Board (EDB). His visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.



According to Bahrain News Agency, during his visit, Minister Al Habsi received a comprehensive briefing on the role of Mumtalakat in fostering economic growth in Bahrain. At the EDB, he attended a presentation that outlined Bahrain’s investment opportunities, competitive advantages for investors, and the EDB’s initiatives aimed at diversifying the national economy and enhancing international partnerships.



Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, highlighted the strong ties between Bahrain and Oman, which are supported by their respective leaders, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman. Shaikh Salman emphasized the Bahraini government’s commitment, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to broaden cooperation with Oman.



The visit by Minister Al Habsi is seen as a step towards bolstering financial, economic, and investment collaboration, as well as forming strategic partnerships that align with the shared objectives of both nations.



The discussions also covered avenues for enhancing coordination in economic and investment sectors, which could lead to more robust cooperation in the future.
