NHRA Unveils Digital Platform for Health Product Data Updates

Manama: As part of the government's ongoing efforts to improve and re-engineer public services, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) digitised its registered health product data update service, enabling agents to submit requests to amend previously registered health products through a new electronic system. The service supports the government's digital transformation, simplifies procedures, improves workflow efficiency, accelerates request processing, and enhances customer partnership.

According to Bahrain News Agency, under the upgraded service, the processing time has been reduced from 15 working days to 10 through the full automation of procedures, eliminating the need for appointment bookings and manual submission of documents. The service also strengthens verification and auditing procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of implementation, while enhancing the efficiency and flexibility of the regulatory system for health products and reinforcing transparency and governance.

Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, Chief Executive of NHRA, said the service was developed as part of the authority's adoption of innovative digital solutions to support its vision and mission of ensuring the quality and safety of health services and keeping pace with international best practices in health services regulation and oversight.

He added that the upgraded service reflects the NHRA's commitment to developing its services by reducing the time and effort required of agents, improving procedural efficiency, and supporting investment in the health sector through a more efficient registered health product amendment service that aligns with internationally recognised regulatory standards.

As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.

This is based on proposals and feedback received regarding government services through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, and secret shopper reports evaluating government services, as well as the launch of guidance manuals and service level agreements.

These efforts contribute to improving procedural efficiency, enhancing service quality, strengthening beneficiary experience, and supporting the government's digital transformation journey.
