Accra:The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Bahrain Network (BNET) have signed a cooperation agreement to conduct a joint study focused on enhancing cybersecurity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bahrain. This initiative aims to bolster digital protection, assist businesses in managing cyber risks, and ensure their continuity in a secure digital environment.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the NCSC will contribute by providing cybersecurity controls tailored for SMEs. These controls specify essential requirements to safeguard their systems, information, users, and operations from cyber threats, considering the varying sizes, operational needs, and resources of different businesses.
BNET will focus on the technical and practical elements of the study. By leveraging its advanced infrastructure and capabilities, BNET aims to develop scalable technical solutions that facilitate SMEs' compliance with security requirements without overwhelming their resources.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the NCSC, stated that the partnership would merge national expertise with BNET's infrastructure and technical resources to create sustainable solutions. These solutions are intended to help SMEs implement cybersecurity measures, enhance their preparedness, and ensure operational continuity, thereby boosting cybersecurity across Bahrain.
Ahmed Jaber Al Hogbani Al Doseri, Chief Executive Officer of BNET, underlined the Centre's role as a frontline defense against cyber threats and reaffirmed BNET's dedication to developing practical solutions for SMEs. The agreement highlights the Centre's collaborative approach with service providers and infrastructure operators to launch national initiatives that support an integrated cybersecurity ecosystem and protect the national digital economy.
