Accra:The Education Minister, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, met with Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Vice President of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, and Dr. Sergey Paramonov, Regional Partnerships Manager of the same organization.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council, and Shaikha Latifa Al Khalifa, Director of the Evaluation and Performance Directorate at the Ministry of Education.
Discussions focused on the performance of higher education institutions in Bahrain and the implementation of an agreement between the Higher Education Council and QS. The goal is to improve the quality of higher education, develop institutional performance assessment mechanisms, and enhance the global competitiveness of Bahraini higher education institutions.
This meeting is part of broader efforts by the Higher Education Council to enhance the performance and reputation of higher education institutions. By strengthening partnerships with specialized international organizations, Bahrain aims to benefit from global expertise, support academic and research excellence, and bolster its standing in regional and international higher education.
