National Commission for Childhood holds meeting

The newly-restructured Bahrain National Commission for Childhood convened for its first meeting.

Social development Minister Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor chaired the session which focused on the committee’s priorties and members’ roles.

Developments of the Correctional Justice Law for Children and their protection from abuse, in addition to a number of topics, were also on the agenda.

The minister stressed the government’s keenness to advance and improve aspects of comprehensive care provided to children,highlighting efforts to achieve more national gains and achievements, ensure children’s rights, and to create an appropriate and safe environment for them.

He valued the edict which was issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, forming the the National Commission for Childhood.
