Manama: The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO) to strengthen the partnership between the education and industrial sectors and expand cooperation in vocational training and technical development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement was signed by Sana Al Kuhaji, Director of Industrial Partnerships at Nasser Centre for Science and Technology, and Fahad Al Bassam, Executive Manager of Administrative Affairs at GARMCO. The MoU aims to establish cooperation between both sides to implement a specialised apprenticeship programme in welding and mechanical engineering for around 40 trainees. The programme includes theoretical training and practical applications to equip participants with the technical skills and practical experience required in manufacturing and development.
This step reflects the Centre's continued commitment to empowering the national workforce and preparing young talent with the practical readiness and technical expertise needed to meet the needs of the industrial sector and keep pace with labour market requirements.
The partnership will also establish specialised working groups to identify key areas of cooperation and organise innovation workshops highlighting the added value of technical and vocational applications in vital sectors, occupational safety, and smart manufacturing. This reflects the shared commitment of Nasser Centre for Science and Technology and GARMCO to using vocational training and advanced solutions as drivers of national progress, and to enabling local talent to harness technology and practical expertise as key elements of sustainable growth, innovation, and industrial prosperity.
