Industry Ministry Unveils AI-Driven Licensing Service for Marketing Campaigns

Manama: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced the development of a new marketing campaign licensing service for the commercial sector, leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This initiative aligns with the government's ongoing efforts to enhance service quality and re-engineer existing processes.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the newly enhanced service significantly reduces the processing time for issuing licenses for promotional campaigns and commercial discounts. The process, which previously required three working days, is now immediate and automated. The number of application steps has been streamlined from six to three, and the required approvals have been reduced by 25%.

The updated service also features improvements in user interface and experience, simplifying procedures and standardizing service information across all platforms. This contributes to greater efficiency and faster processing times, benefiting businesses and consumers alike.

Eman Ahmed Al Doseri, Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce, emphasized that the service is part of the Ministry's broader strategy to adopt innovative digital solutions. These efforts aim to reduce transaction costs, improve the business environment, and enhance the experience for Consumer Protection customers. Al Doseri also noted that the Ministry intends to expand the use of AI technologies across several services within the Consumer Protection Directorate, supporting the government's digital transformation goals.

These initiatives are part of a comprehensive government effort to develop and re-engineer services across various sectors. Over 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with 800 of them undergoing development and re-engineering. This transformation is informed by feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, mystery shopper reports, service guides, and service-level agreements, leading to more efficient procedures, improved service quality, and an enhanced user experience.
