Yangon: Myanmar is preparing to hold the first phase of general elections on Sunday, marking the country's first nationwide vote in five years.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the elections will be conducted in three phases, with the first scheduled for Sunday, the second on January 11, and the third on January 25. Voting will not take place in 65 towns due to the ongoing armed conflict.
Estimates indicate that more than 47 million people are eligible to vote.
