Hoorat a'ali: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), visited the Agricultural Incubators Centre in Hoorat A'ali to review its programmes and projects supporting agricultural development and food security in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized the centre's role in developing national capabilities and promoting modern agricultural technologies, innovation, and agricultural entrepreneurship. The centre achieves this through its training, applied research, and practical programmes aimed at enhancing the agricultural sector.
Shaikha Maram highlighted the partnership between the ministry and NIAD, which supports capacity building and empowers young people and agricultural entrepreneurs. This collaboration is seen as a contribution to sustainable agricultural projects and the strengthening of food security in Bahrain.
The visit to the centre included an in-depth review of its development plans, training programmes, and strategic partnerships. The focus was also on the agricultural entrepreneurs programme and the testing of agricultural technologies designed to evaluate new crops. This initiative aims to identify crops suitable for Bahrain's environmental conditions and supports the diversification of local agricultural production.
