Arusha:MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, representing Bahrain as the current holder of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) presidency, met with the head of the Indonesian parliamentary delegation during the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Arusha, Tanzania.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing Asian parliamentary cooperation and the potential transformation of the APA into the Asian Parliamentary Union. This transformation aims to align its work with parliamentary aspirations and international trends.
Additionally, discussions were held on opening nominations for a new Secretary General of the APA, as the term of the current Secretary General is concluding.
