Manama:Housing Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi met with Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, during the Urban October conference in Oman to discuss cooperation in housing and urban development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Rumaihi reiterated Bahrain's dedication to evolving housing policies in response to economic and social shifts by broadening housing and financing options, enhancing private sector partnerships, and focusing on quality of life through sustainable urban development.
The discussions focused on the exchange of expertise between Bahrain and UN-Habitat, reviewing Bahrain's initiatives in social housing and private-sector collaborations to provide sustainable housing solutions. The meeting also highlighted Bahrain's advancements in its housing finance system, offering citizens diverse and flexible financing options to expedite access to housing services.
Rossbach commended the outcomes of the Innovation Summit in the Social Housing Sector 2026 hosted by Bahrain, noting the conference's role in sharing expertise and promoting innovative social housing solutions. She stressed the importance of public-private partnerships and the continuous international exchange of expertise to bolster sustainable urban development.
Both parties agreed on the significance of ongoing collaboration to support the development of housing and urban policies, emphasizing the mutual interest in sustainable urban development.
