Manama: The Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies organized a significant dialogue session with Luigi Di Maio, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf region. The session aimed at strengthening the diplomatic ties and fostering cooperation between Bahrain and the European Union.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of the Academy, underscored the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and the EU, emphasizing the ongoing progress in their bilateral relations. The session was moderated by Ambassador Shaikha Aisha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa and focused on the key developments in relations between the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Participants also discussed several regional and international issues of mutual interest, along with insights into Di Maio's career and diplomatic experience.
The dialogue concluded with an interactive session where Di Maio responded to questions, highlighting the EU's commitment to enhancing cooperation and communication with Bahrain and the GCC countries. This initiative is part of the "From Manama to the World" program series by the Academy, which aims to present real-life experiences of diplomats and emphasize their career journeys through direct interactions with international diplomatic figures. The program aligns with Bahraini Diplomatic Day, celebrated on January 14, honoring Bahraini diplomacy and its role in elevating the Kingdom's international profile.
