Baku:The Employment Fair for People of Determination was inaugurated by Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, along with Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the National Committee for the Care of People of Determination. Organized by the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Social Development in cooperation with the private sector, the fair aims to enhance employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the two-day fair involves several private-sector institutions and companies and is part of national efforts to expand the participation of people with disabilities in the labor market. The event focuses on consolidating the principle of equal opportunities in employment.
During their tour of the fair, the ministers reviewed job opportunities offered by participating companies, examining the nature of positions available, their requirements, and efforts to align jobs with the skills and qualifications of jobseekers with disabilities. Minister Khalaf emphasized the Ministry of Labour's commitment to enhancing private-sector employment opportunities for people of determination, highlighting the importance of cooperation with public and private entities, particularly the Ministry of Social Development.
Minister Al Alawi noted that the fair demonstrates the Ministry of Social Development's dedication to empowering persons with disabilities, allowing them to showcase their abilities and pursue professional goals in a supportive environment. He stressed the importance of investing in their potential as a means of fostering a more inclusive society.
The fair offers jobseekers with disabilities a chance to engage directly with potential employers, explore available vacancies, and understand application procedures, thus supporting economic empowerment and social participation. The initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance cooperation between the ministries and private sector, aiming to create a supportive work environment that accommodates the abilities of people with disabilities.
