Manama:Masar Group, a subsidiary of Bahrain Maritime and Logistics Holding Company, which is part of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, has announced the launch of the Kingdom of Bahrain's first annual membership boat club in partnership with The Captain's Club. This initiative marks a significant addition to the Kingdom's marine leisure sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the announcement was made at the Gateway Gulf 2026 investment forum, organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board, held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay on November 1 and 2. The launch is the result of a strategic partnership agreement signed by Masar Group and The Captain's Club during the Gateway Gulf forum in November 2025. The partnership aims to introduce innovative maritime services, broaden access to marine leisure activities, and contribute to the development of Bahrain's tourism sector.
The Captain's Club offers an alternative to boat ownership, allowing members to access and operate a variety of recreational boats after completing specialized training programs. This model eliminates the financial and operational costs associated with direct ownership. The annual membership aims to make boating experiences more accessible through an integrated system based on specialized training and operational support.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bahrain Maritime and Logistics Holding Company, emphasized that the launch represents an important addition to the Kingdom's maritime and tourism sectors. He noted that such initiatives contribute to developing specialized services, enhancing the use of the Kingdom's marine assets, and supporting efforts to diversify the national economy. The strategic partnerships and development of innovative services aim to strengthen Bahrain's position as a regional destination for marine tourism and leisure activities.
Yusuf Khalifa Al Manea, Chief Executive Officer of Masar Group and Chairman of The Captain's Club - Bahrain, highlighted the commitment to developing innovative maritime and leisure services that respond to changing customer expectations and broaden access to marine experiences. He stated that the partnership introduces a membership model that combines access to a diverse fleet of boats with specialized training and operational support, forming part of wider efforts to develop maritime and tourism services in Bahrain.
Zaid Shouli, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of The Captain's Club, pointed out that entering the Bahraini market is a significant milestone in their regional expansion. The partnership with Masar Group is expected to introduce an established membership model and leverage operational expertise in a market with promising potential for marine leisure.
Since its establishment in the United Arab Emirates in 2014, The Captain's Club has gained experience in Gulf markets, operating a fleet of over 300 boats, including fishing boats, speedboats, water sports boats, sailboats, and cabin cruisers. Its membership model offers an alternative to traditional ownership by reducing maintenance, operating, and other costs associated with owning boats.
The launch in Bahrain expands The Captain's Club's regional presence to all six Gulf Cooperation Council countries, complementing its operations in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. Through this partnership, Masar Group continues to expand its portfolio of maritime and tourism services, supporting the development of marine tourism and helping to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as a regional destination for marine tourism and activities.
