Manama:Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, the Deputy of the National Security Advisor and Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council of Bahrain, held a meeting with Vaidotas Urbelis, the Defence Policy Director at the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania. This meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 22nd IISS Manama Dialogue 2026, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion centered on enhancing Bahrain-Lithuania relations, with an emphasis on expanding cooperation in the realms of security and defence.
Shaikh Khalid bin Ali expressed appreciation for Lithuania's support of regional initiatives aimed at protecting freedom of navigation and ensuring the security of critical maritime routes. Furthermore, both parties addressed regional developments and their potential impacts on regional and international security. They highlighted the necessity of reducing tensions, bolstering preparedness, and improving coordination to maintain stability and promote mutual interests.
