LMRA Conducts Over 1,300 Inspection Campaigns in Bahrain

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the completion of 1,352 inspection campaigns and visits spanning from November 30 to December 6, resulting in the detention of 25 irregular workers and the deportation of 57 violators.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these inspections revealed several violations related to various regulatory laws, particularly those under the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in Bahrain. Legal measures were taken against the infringements discovered during these operations.

The LMRA reported that 1,321 of the inspection visits targeted shops across all governorates, complemented by 31 joint inspection campaigns. These included 17 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 4 in the Muharraq Governorate, 4 in the Northern Governorate, and 6 in the Southern Governorate.

The campaigns were a collaborative effort involving multiple government entities, such as the Ministry of Interior-represented by Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA)-the Governorate's Police Directorate, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), and the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO).

The LMRA emphasized the ongoing coordination with government agencies to bolster inspection campaigns across the Kingdom's governorates, aiming to address any violations or practices that could undermine the labour market's stability and competitiveness or impact Bahrain's economic and social security.

In its statement, the LMRA urged the public to assist government efforts in combatting illegal labour activities by reporting violations through the electronic form on their website at , by calling the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
