LMRA Board Reviews Wage Protection System and Stresses Electronic Salary Compliance

Manama: The Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), led by Yousif bin Abdulhussein Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, conducted its regular meeting, which included participation from board members and Nibras Mohammed Talib, LMRA CEO.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the board examined LMRA's initiatives for 2025-2026 focused on enhancing the labour market environment, improving customer service, and boosting regulatory oversight in alignment with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, the Government Plan, and the National Labour Market Plan 2023-2026.

The meeting also addressed plans to update labour market policies and supporting procedures to adapt to sector needs and economic shifts. Discussions included efforts to improve operational efficiency, simplify processes, and enhance integration across government systems to support service quality, competitiveness, and investment appeal.

Additionally, the board received updates on significant development projects, particularly the implementation of the Wage Protection System. It highlighted the importance of aligning all financial and banking institutions with this system to safeguard the rights of employers and workers, thereby promoting a fair and secure work environment.

Concluding the meeting, the board urged employers to adopt electronic salary payment systems, emphasizing the advantages of this approach in fostering stable labour relations.
