Manama: Three landmark memoranda of understanding have been signed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, coinciding with King Hamad Lecture for Neutral Justice, the launch of the Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC) in partnership with Singapore, and the establishment of Global Justice Bay, underscoring the Kingdom of Bahrain’s growing role as a hub for global legal cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the memoranda include an MOU between the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and the Bahrain Law Society, formalizing cooperation to enhance legal practice standards and dispute resolution expertise in the Kingdom. Another MOU was signed between the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and the Singapore Law Society, opening new pathways for cross-border training, joint conferences, professional development, and collaboration on transnational commercial disputes between Bahrain and Singapore. Additionally, an MOU between the Bahrain Law Society and the Singapore Law Society aims to deepen professio
nal exchanges and forge closer links between the legal communities of both countries, with a particular focus on legal innovation, advocacy, and access to international best practices.
These agreements reflect the joint vision of Bahrain and Singapore, alongside the legal profession in both countries, to promote judicial excellence, nurture the next generation of legal talent, and facilitate a trusted, modern framework for dispute resolution within the MENA region and beyond.
The signings highlight Bahrain’s ambitions to serve as a crossroads of international legal services, strengthening its partnerships with leading legal institutions and reinforcing the Kingdom’s leadership in commercial justice and international law. The signing ceremonies were organized by the Council for International Dispute Resolution, the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), and Global Justice Bay.
