Labour Minister Engages with Bahrain Deaf Society for Enhanced Disability Inclusion

Manama: Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, met with Hassan Abdulla Al Ghurairi, Chairman of the Bahrain Deaf Society, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with civil society organisations supporting and empowering people with disabilities, and to discuss initiatives aimed at expanding their integration into the labour market.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to further developing policies and programmes that promote the inclusion of people with disabilities, including deaf and hard of hearing individuals, in the labour market. He also underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation with relevant stakeholders to create sustainable employment opportunities while reinforcing the principles of justice, equality, and equal opportunities.

The meeting reviewed ways to further enhance the integration of deaf and hard of hearing individuals into the labour market through the development of programmes and initiatives that support vocational training and employment in line with their abilities, enabling their professional integration and strengthening their contribution to the Kingdom's development.
