Geneva:The King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC) recently celebrated the graduation of two cohorts from its Postgraduate Diploma in Coexistence Programme at a ceremony held at the United Nations Office in Geneva.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was organized in collaboration with the United Nations-mandated University for Peace (UPEACE) and the GIOYA Higher Education Institution. Muneera Nofal Al Doseri, Executive Director of KHGC, emphasized the role of education and dialogue in promoting understanding among diverse cultures during her opening address. She underscored the importance of using knowledge and experience to build communication bridges and strengthen community understanding.
The Executive Director highlighted the King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance, which honors global individuals and organizations for their contributions to coexistence, tolerance, and dialogue. She noted that this award aims to encourage efforts that build cohesive societies capable of engaging constructively with differences. Nominations for the award are open worldwide until October 10.
Concluding her remarks, Al Doseri congratulated the graduates, expressing gratitude to the University for Peace and GIOYA Higher Education Institution for their partnership. She encouraged the graduates to apply their newfound knowledge to create positive impacts in their communities.
