Accra:The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf has introduced a fully digital and proactive update to the minor settlement data service as part of government efforts to enhance service quality and streamline procedures.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this upgraded service within the Minor Affairs Sector allows minors nearing the age of majority, as well as those responsible for their affairs, to update personal information, contact details, bank accounts, and any property or vehicle ownership records. This update aims to facilitate the settlement process and the receipt of entitlements.
The enhancements have significantly reduced the service completion time from six to three working days, halved the number of required documents, decreased the service-level agreement by at least 25%, and enabled complete digital processing. Additionally, the upgrade has improved user interfaces, simplified procedures, reduced necessary approvals by 25%, enhanced existing systems, converted forms to electronic formats, and standardized service information across all platforms.
Noor Ibrahim Al Hajri, Head of the Minor Affairs and Funds Service Centre, stated that the improvements aim to simplify procedures and boost efficiency by expanding proactive and electronic services, making transactions more accessible for beneficiaries.
The service is now accessible through Bahrain's National Portal, bahrain.bh, eliminating the need for in-person visits. Relevant parties are notified in advance before a minor reaches the age of majority, allowing for early updates and preparation for settlement procedures.
These enhancements are part of broader government efforts to refine public services and re-engineer procedures. Over 1,300 government services have been documented and published, with 800 services developed and re-engineered. These reforms have incorporated feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor input, and mystery shopper evaluations, alongside new service guides and agreements to boost procedural efficiency, service quality, and beneficiary experience, advancing the government's digital transformation goals.
