Manama: The Judicial and Legal Studies Institute (JLSI), in cooperation with the Supreme Judicial Council and the Embassy of France in Bahrain, organised a specialised international seminar on the role of artificial intelligence in legal and judicial systems, focusing on current developments and future directions.
According to Bahrain News Agency, in his opening remarks, Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain emphasised that artificial intelligence serves as a tool to support, not replace, human judicial reasoning, highlighting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to integrating such technologies responsibly to enhance integrity and judicial efficiency.
Ambassador Eric Giraud-Telme, Ambassador of France to Bahrain, highlighted France’s pride in its close ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its support for initiatives like those led by the Institute, which encourage legal innovation and responsible use of new technologies.
Judge Dr. Riyadh Mohammed Seyadi, Director of the JLSI, noted that the seminar reflects a shared commitment to leadership and learning in the digital age and forms part of efforts to prepare legal institutions for future challenges and developments.
The seminar featured academic presentations from Christiane F©ral-Schuhl, former President of the Paris Bar Association, Dr. Shaikha Al Trad of Kuwait University, Zahra Murad, Chief Prosecutor and member of the Public Prosecution’s AI team in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Ameen Al Tajer, CEO of Infiniteware.
The seminar concluded with an interactive panel discussion on the role of AI in judicial systems worldwide, attended by judges, public prosecutors, legislators, academics, lawyers, and representatives from the Ministries of Justice and Legal Affairs.
This seminar represents a qualitative step towards deepening the integration of technology and law in the region and reinforces Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for judicial innovation and advanced legal thinking.
