Interior Minister Receives Master’s Thesis on Sustainable Water Management

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Major Saud Abdulaziz Buhiji of the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture, who presented a copy of his master's thesis, which he obtained with distinction and first-class honours from Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom in Advanced Engineering Management. The thesis addressed sustainable verification of water consumption using unmanned aerial vehicles in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister congratulated Major Buhiji and commended the study for its valuable scientific research and reports. He noted that it reflects the Ministry of Interior's keenness to encourage scientific research and studies that contribute to comprehensive development and modernisation, and to the delivery of advanced security services in line with the highest international standards.

Major Buhiji also received an international award in the same field of study for his participation in an international conference organised by Loughborough University in the United Kingdom in September 2025 on environmental sustainability in engineering design for society. He noted the potential of employing drone technologies to reduce operational costs and enhance the efficiency of water resource management.
