Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Colonel General Elchin Guliyev, Chief of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting aimed to fortify bilateral relations and enhance security cooperation between Bahrain and Azerbaijan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Lieutenant General Tariq Hasan Al Hasan, Chief of Public Security, was also present during the discussions. Gen. Shaikh Rashid emphasized the mutual commitment to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise to effectively address security risks and challenges. He underscored Bahrain's advanced border-control systems, which leverage modern technologies to manage the movement of travelers and goods, thereby ensuring a balance between efficient procedures and the highest standards of safety and security.
The minister further stressed the importance of enhancing partnerships and integration among national, regional, and international institutions for the exchange of information and expertise. The meeting also reviewed topics that could enhance security cooperation and expand avenues for coordination, ultimately serving the interests of both countries.
